345KV OIL FILLED CABLE – EAST RIVER PROMENADE

When 345,000 volt Con Edison cables required repair and replacement, E-J Electric Installation received the call from Pirelli, a leading international manufacturer of high voltage cable. They needed a contractor who had the ability to provide experienced electricians and the corporate agility that such a complex project demanded. The project called for using liquid nitrogen to freeze both ends of a 10″ pipe filled with insulating oil, cutting out pipe sections replacing and splicing the cable. With the new 345kV cable in place, testing was performed and the cable returned to service. Delays were “not an option”.

425 PARK AVENUE

A 32 story office building located on Park Avenue between 55^th and 56^th Streets. The building suffered a major electrical fire which destroyed their bus duct distribution system which fed almost the entire building. The electrical distribution was temped out and the building was reopened. E-J was Prime Contractor in a Design/Build capacity. The job was predominantly electrical but other trades required include Structural, Carpentry, HVAC, GC and Environmental. A conceptual plan was put together using the worst case floor and was submitted to the NYC Department of Buildings, Electrical Advisory Board for conceptual approval. This conceptual approval was granted. Within 6 weeks fully engineered plans were produced and submitted to the Advisory Board for formal approval, which was granted. The work has been underway and is near final completion.

5 BOROUGHS POOL MAINTENANCE

Annual maintenance contract for all 64 pools in various parks located within the five boroughs. The maintenance included a filtration system, deck lighting maintenance and providing a sound electrical structure for all the pools. We also are providing 24-hour emergency service for the NYC Parks Dept.
